With over 400 fans picking their Best Everton XI on Blue Kipper, Everton legend Graeme Sharp has picked his Everton Best XI, but with a difference. He has picked the team on evertonfc.com with only players who played for The Toffees from 1970 onwards.

Sharpy said: "It was a tough decision. There were a lot of great players I left out of the side, but I wanted to pick a team I felt could cope in today's game."

Sharpy's Everton XI (4-1-3-1-1): Neville Southall; Gary Stevens, Kevin Ratcliffe, Brian Labone, Pat Van Den Hauwe; Peter Reid; Trevor Steven, Alan Ball, Kevin Sheedy; Wayne Rooney; Gary Lineker.

Bainsey instead of bad knees Vanders. Top two Sharpy and Bobby Lachford for me. Jags as well... Otherwise top team...

don't underestimate Links. He scored 40 goals in 52 games. Would pair Sharpy with him and leave out Rooney. Agree Bainsey is a better player than psycho Pat

Can't have Psycho ahead of Bainesy I'm afraid. I would also have Jags ahead of Labone. One more change - Beardsley ahead of Rooney.

Far too modest Sharpy. I'd have you over Lineker any day of the week. You are and always were a top blue. It's a good job you weren't so shy on the pitch heheh...

Cracking side. Replace Lineker with Sharpie and then it's top drawer.

Great team
