MAY AS WELL THROW ROD BELFIT AND BERNIE WRIGHT INTO THAT TEAM JUST FOR GOOD MEASURE.

Interesting but no leader in midfield. Put Riedy or Bracewell in there instead of Ginola and that side would be something to see.

GREAT line-up....Just a pity most of them were past their best when they joined Everton....Imagine that lot at their peak in Blue shirts.....Superb!!

Andrei Kanchelskis & Ginola in the same team?! And the midfield pencil in Alan Ball and fit the rest around him...

Eddie wind your neck in and read it properly in future! Good post

Read the guy's post before slagging him off. He posted an interesting team - more interesting than the predictable teams that people normally post (i.e Southall, Sheedy, Dean, Reid, etc).

I dont think some of you have quite understood what he meant. he could have thrown in the obvious names but thats not the point he was making. I for one think thats a really good list. Those players do not instantly conjure up memories of the great Everton sides but they were still brilliant players in heir own right. I'd be happy with that team, definitely.

Can none of you people read? i.e Chris, Andrew & Eddie - The author clearly states "They didn't necessarily play their best career football at Everton but they where great players." Of course Peter Reid, Alan Ball, Dixie Dean and Big Nev would make it into a greatest Everton XI - We see greatest Everton XI's all the time - Fair play to the author for being a bit different. Try reading before you comment in future - It's yourselves that you make look bad.

A lot of those players were over the hill when they joined Everton. Get a grip, much better players past & present are better than that eleven.

Marco Materazzi. World cup winner, Champions league winner, Serie a five times, Coppa Italia 4 times, World club cup, Serie a defender of the year 07. And as much as I liked Richard Gough I think Matterazzi should get the nod for this particular XI.

What about Van den Hauwe for left back? Peter Reid, Andy Grey, Alan Ball. The list is endless

I can't believe Dixie Dean or Big Nev isn't on that list.
