On this day in 1958, Alex Parker signed for Everton from Falkirk a year after helping them win the Scottish FA Cup. Alex made 220 appearance, scoring 5 goals and was a member of the 1962/63 League winning team. Alex also won 15 Scottish caps.

After leaving Everton, he joined Southport and later became a pub manager in Runcorn before moving back to Scotland where he continued in the pub trade in Gretna. Sadly Alex died in January 2010 aged 74.
