More On This Day

On this day in 1950, Everton winger John Connolly was born in Glasgow. Harry Catterick signed the left winger from St Johnstone in March 1972 for £75,000 .

John stayed at Goodison for 5 years playing over 100 games until he joined Birmingham City in September 1977 for £90,000.

The Gwladys street sang: "John Connolly..John Connolly..The Winger To Watch" taken from the TV advert for the men's shop 'John Collier'.
