On this day in 2009, Nuno Valente packed his bags and left Everton. The Portuguese International played over 50 games but never scored for Everton over a 4 season period.

He found the pace of the Premier league hard to get used to. When he did, he made the left back place his own. Though he missed a load of games through injury.

He was a classy player with a cultured left foot and threw the odd strong sliding tackle in. He lost his place to Leighton Baines.
