On this day Everton skipper, Brian Labone, Tommy Wright and World Cup Winner, Ray Wilson played for England in the 1968 European Championships. England won 2-0 against USSR in Italy with goals from Bobby Charlton and Geoff Hurst.

Some thing wrong here, Ray Wilson didn't even play in the 1970 World Cup his career finished in 1969 I think. Suspect that the date is wrong maybe 1968?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UEFA_Euro_1968 It was 1968. We had a fantastic defence then, especially with Westy, 4 full England internationals at the back, of course Wilson was easily world class.
