On this day in 1987, Everton drew 1-1 with Australia with Adrian Heath scoring for Everton. Bobby Dunn scored for the Socceroos. Australia won the penalty shoot out 4-1 to win the Nissan Challenge Cup. Trevor Steven scored the first pen, but misses by Harper and Heath gave the Cup to Oz. Amongst the Everton players were Peter Reid, Paul Power, Derek Mountfield, Bobby Mimms, Adrian Heath, Trevor Steven and Alan Harper.
