More On This Day

On this day in 1994 Everton played Wimbledon at Goodison Park in the last game of the season, Everton needed to win to stay in the Premiership!

Everton were two down before half time and looking dead and buried, the up stepped The Diamond. Anders Limpar went down for a penalty and Graham Stuart slotted to make it 1-2 at the break.

The up steps, 'Don't shoot', Barry Hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorne who pulled us level with a 25 yard screamer before Graham 'Diamond Geezer' Stuart scored the winner. Phew! That was close, never again said Blue Bill - until 3 years later that is!
