Naisy Gets Bragging Rights
Bookmark and Share

Scotland got the better of the Republic of Ireland in their Euro 2016 qualifying game at Celtic Park on Friday with a 1-0 victory.

Sean Maloney scored the only goal in a closely fought match. So Steven Naismith will get bragging right between the Everton lads for the time being.

Seamus and Aiden both played the full ninety as did Steven. Darron Gibson started the game but was replaced with 20 minutes left.

An unhappy Seamus said:"We're disappointed. We came here to win the game, and it was important that we didn't lose, but unfortunately we didn't do that.

"We might have switched off a bit for the corner. We're all disappointed, but it's early in the group, and we've got to move on."

"It was a close game overall. We're devastated, but we have to move on."

I agree with all the comments, i would not swap Nais for anyone in our starting eleven as he makes us tick. Our player of the season so far, lets hope he stays injury free

Possibly the best Everton player currently, and certainly the best player in the Scotland side. Well done.

Out of all the blue contingent on parade last night it was Nais who carried on the great club form at Celtic Park.Intelligent running and passing that had the Irish lad's work cut out,he makes his effectiveness appear effortless. To be honest i wasn't sold on him when he came down to us,but so glad he's made me eat humble pie,he's been sensational for Everton. As for last nights International, not one for the purists, but as for total unrivalled commitment it was second to non.Blood and Thunder throughout, with Scotland worthy winners,it's about time we started making enquiries about the Scots keeper Marshall, never seen him less than safe and commanding.
