It is incredible to think that Seamus Coleman was left out of the Republic of Ireland Euro 2012 squad. Giovanni Trapattoni believed Seamus was not the real deal back then.

How times have changed. Seamus is an absolute certainty to start the game against Georgia on Sunday night for the first Euro 2016 qualifying game.

Seamus is hoping for big things for the Republic in this competition.

Seamus said: "Obviously I didn't play in the last European Championship, so I am definitely hungry to be part of that. That's what you want as an international player, to be on the biggest stage."

"I did quite well last season - I'd like to think it was my breakthrough season even though I had had a couple of seasons before that."

"But I did quite well last year and have kicked it off this year again. Hopefully I can have a good strong season."
