Mirallas In Birdy Song Protest Against The Press
Bookmark and Share

After saying he wants to score 6 in 6 games, Kevin Mirallas scored Everton's only goal in the 1-0 win over Burnley yesterday.

The winger has now scored 10 goals this season, despite being out of the team injured for a few spells.

The Belgian international wasn't happy the way the papers have reported that he wants away from Everton and celebrated singing the "birdy song" in protest.

Mirallas said: "A lot of people talk about my future but I like to play for Everton and I want to finish the season in my best form.

"After that, I'll talk with my partner, my chairman and manager but I am confident here and very happy to play for Everton.

"It was a very important win because it was difficult against Burnley who are fighting to stay in the Premier League.

"The first part of the season was difficult, playing every three days with too many players injured, but now we have a lot of players fit and we are playing with more confidence. You can see that on the pitch."

Still think he'll go, and I'm made up about it, shows up once every 5 or 6 games and is largely anonymous the other times, he then gets injured. Good riddance when he does go, should have been January after he disgraced himself with the penalty fiasco.

Just like McGeady v West Ham in the cup no regard for the team. One way loyalty on the cards!

I love him and wish he would stay, but can't help thinking that he's as close to a mercenary as you get in football these days. Angling for a move for ages, and if that's the case then you can do one Kevin, otherwise show your commitment and tell your agent to stfu....

You have to say he didn't look too happy despite scoring a good goal. That foul was awful and should have seen him taking an early bath. I hope he stays but only if he stops looking like a bloody undertaker.

Personally, I never believe anything in the papers so just carry on playing Kevin.
