(Sung To The Tune Of 'Jerusalem')

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon England's mountain green?
And was the Ghost of Dixie Dean
On Everton's pleasant pastures seen?
And did the Trinity divine
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here
Among those dark satanic mills?

Bring me my Ball with boots of gold!
Bring me Brian Labones desire!
Bring me my spear! O clouds, unfold!
Bring me my Team on fire!
I will not cease from mental fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand,
Till we have built Jerusalem
On Goodison Parks hallowed land.

Erm, it's ok but not exactly topical guys. I know we have a glorious past, one worthy of many a song, but we have enough "classic" everton songs, we need some new songs about the new crop of hero's and our achivements. Granted the lows of the 90's and early 00's was a hard time to even think of something new to sing about Everton, but with this squad reaching cup finals and competing with the best (we took 4 points off the champions remember) why do we not sing about them? why does cahill not have an epic song celebrating his loyalty to our glorious club? or why do we not have a song to respect the flair and hard work shown by the current trinity of Arteta, Pienaar and Neville. Ok, maybe not Neville, but Fellaini for sure. I realise I am not offering an alternative song and as such my opinion might not hold much weight but I can assure you all if I did put a song forward it would be awful and further damage my argument due to my complete lack of imagination.
