deCoubertin Books are delighted to announce publication of a special limited edition version of Neville Southall's acclaimed autobiography, The Binman Chronicles, featuring original cover artwork by Marvel Comics artist, Will Sliney.

Published on the 30th anniversary of Southall's now immortal save against Tottenham Hotspur's Mark Falco - a save many consider the moment Everton won the 1985 league title - this limited edition of 1000 copies features Sliney's illustration of that moment.  Sliney, an award winning and bestselling comic book artist from Cork, Ireland, is best known for his work on Spider-Man and Marvel's Secret Wars 2099. He takes after his uncle Brendan as a lifelong Evertonian.

Included with this special limited edition book is a 20 page comic book with specially commissioned artwork that celebrates some of Neville's greatest saves. The comic has been signed by Neville himself and is shrinkwrapped with the book

Neville Southall said: 'I enjoyed putting my life story on paper and looking back over my long career and it made me reflect on some of what I'd achieved. One of the things I wanted to work on subsequently was a book of my greatest saves. With my publisher I tossed around a few ideas, and after coming to the realisation that there perhaps wasn't a full length book to be made from a score of incidents that lasted no more than a few seconds, we arrived upon the idea of having a selection of talented artists recreate some of those moments in their own style.'

Will Sliney said: 'Even though I mainly draw superheroes for Marvel comics these days, it was drawing Everton players that was a huge passion for me when I was younger. In those days, Big Nev was ever present so I was thrilled to be asked to draw the cover for the book.'

The special edition is available for pre-order from the deCoubertin Books webstore and will be in all good bookshops for Easter.

For those who have previously purchased The Binman Chronicles and would like to buy only a signed comic book, at Neville Southall's request we have made a small number of these available, priced £10. All profits from these comics will be donated to the Neville Southall Foundation.

Neville Southall will be appearing at the following venues to sign The Binman Chronicles.

16 April: (with Howard Kendall) at Linghams bookshop, Heswall to sign books and carry out a Q&A, 7.30pm.

17 April: Blues Bar, Moor Lane, Crosby as part of Pritchards Bookshop 40th anniversary celebrations, 6pm.

18 April: Waterstones Liverpool One 11am-12pm, then St Lukes Church Goodison 1pm-2.30pm (before EFC v Burnley) signing special editions of The Binman Chronicles. There will also be a small exhibition of comic book artwork commemorating Neville's greatest saves.

I was at White Hart Lane that night and have always thought that it was a point blank save from Graham Roberts
