Who is the Everton player in this School team photo?

Of course its Dixie Dean (front centre. Where else?) playing for Birkenhead School Boys 1920/21.

Most of you got it. Thanks to Eggsey who sent in the photo.

The last school photo featured Alex Young. Click here to see it.

If you were at school with an Everton player past or present and have an 'old school' photo send it to: photos@bluekipper.com

Only just found this for some reason. My grand father Walter McTear is second from the right in this photo. Died 1948. He was a school master (I think at Laird Street) and had a lot to do the the Birkenhead School boys team (this photo is B'head boys team) and Tranmere Rovers reporting via carrier pigeon over the Mersey to the Liverpool Echo - no phones in those days at Prenton Park. Died before I was born - but I can still be proud of him.

It has to be incomparable William Ralph Dean at the centre of the front row. A bit before my time at Goodison, but even my father, who was a supporter of the other lot, admitted that Dixie was the best.
