Players Shocked As Everton Ladies Manager Resigns

Everton Ladies players are shocked that Mo Marley MBE has resigned as manager of Everton Ladies with immediate effect.

Mo has been in charge of the team for 10 years. During that time the former Everton player took Everton to the top in English Women's Football, winning the FA Premier League Cup in 2008 plus the Women's FA Cup in 2010.

Mo said: "It is a sad day but I would like to thank everyone I have worked with at Everton over the years, especially the players. It is a great Club, with great people and fantastic supporters.

"It has been an unbelievable journey for me personally and I am delighted to have played a part in ensuring women's football has developed into the game it is in 2012.

"But I feel now is the right time for me to move on and concentrate on my commitments with the Football Association.

"I would like to take this opportunity to wish Everton all the very best for the future and I hope they achieve the success they truly deserve."

‏@MichelleHinni "Still cnt believe that Mo has stepped down today. Taught me everything I know from age of 11. Wishing her good luck for the future"

@T_Duggan  "Emotional day!! 140 characters isn't enough to tell you how much I appreciate what Mo Marley has done for both myself and EFC ladies."

@JillScott12 "Gutted about Mo leaving Everton! No1 more committed than her to the Club + the game! Wish her every success for the future!"
