Alan Stubbs continues his run with his Everton U21 side as they extended their unbeaten run to 10 games yesterday, however he will not be pleased.

Goals from Conor McAleny and Hallam Hope helped Everton extend their unbeaten run and go six points clear at the top of the Barclays Under-21 Premier League Group 1 table.

They were 2-0 up with 20 minutes to go before finishing 2-2 so a home draw will be a disappointment.

Conor McAleny opened the scoring and gave Everton a lead at the break. He is oozing confidence on the back of six goals in seven games, picked up the ball down the inside left channel, cut inside on to his right foot and caressed a shot low past Watkins and in off the post.

Conor the turned provider as Hallam Hope put us two up, providing a sweet left-wing cross which allowed Hope to thump a header past Watkins and extend Everton's lead.

Villa replied two minutes later and levelled the score with just four minutes remaining.

Conor McAleny must surely be knocking on the first team door again soon?

EVERTON U21: Springthorpe, Pennington, Garbutt, Junior, Duffy, Browning, Grant, Barkley, Vellios, McAleny, Hope
Subs: Kennedy (81, Vellios), Griffiths, Kelly, Long, Touray.
