Duffy And Lundstram Captain Their Countries

As well as the first team squad in international action this week, the Everton youngsters are also playing with two of our lads captaining their countries.

Everton midfielder John Lundstram was captain of England Under 19's as they beat Denmark 3-1 in a friendly last night. New signing John Stones played 60 odd minutes at right back.

Everton centre-back Johan Hammar was in the Sweden Under-19s game which drew 0-0 against Portugal and won 2-1 against Norway today. Johan completes three games in five days in La Manga, Portugal when Sweden take on Turkey on Friday.

Meanwhile Republic of Ireland U21 team manager Noel King has appointed Everton's Shane Duffy as captain for the 2013-15 UEFA Championships qualifying campaign when his side hosts the Netherlands at Tallaght Stadium on Wednesday (1pm).

Winger Matthew Kennedy is in Veenendaal with the Scotland Under-19s as they take on Holland.

Meanwhile, there are three England Under-17 games for George Green over the next eight days in Portugal.

Watched england under 18's last year at Crewe Alex and Lundstram was best player on the park by a mile that night. Outclassed Nick Powell, Max Clayton etc

Living in Donny I had the opportunity to take a peek at our new signing last night and the lad Stones played well. The funny bit was during the game my mates and I all noticed and remarked how well the skipper No8 played. Logged onto the kipper tonight only to see the very player was John Lundstram. He looked class above to me!
