An' if, yer know, yer 'istory..............

The fourth Captain of Everton Football Cub was Bob Howarth.

Bob replaced Johnny Holt as Captain.

Bob joined Everton from Preston North End in 1891. He was an immaculate right back who went on to represent England on five occasions, in the days when international matches were few and far between. Bob was described as a cool, calm and collected customer with a timely tackle.

Bob Howarth was the first Everton Captain in an FA Cup Final. In the 1893 FA Cup Final at Fallowfield, Bob led Everton out against Wolverhampton Wanderers, unfortunately we lost 1-0.

Bob played 59 times for Everton without scoring, later in 1893 he returned to Preston North End.

Bob Howarth, born Preston 20.06.1865 - 20.08.1938
